Cost savings & green branding at Antonucci's
Antonucci's Produce and Seafood Inc. was an early adopter of REUSA-WRAPS in hopes that they would help the company meet it's sustainability goals and maybe even save them a little money. Today Antonucci's wraps all of their closed loop deliveries with REUSA-WRAPS and they are saving $10-12,000 annually by not buying disposable, single use stretch film. Corporation President John Antonucci Sr. admits that they "took a little getting used to," but that they have helped his company deliver on a promise to offer it's customers the most sustainable supply chain possible. Antonucci asked his operations team to get to 100% of "closed loop deliveries" wrapped with REUSA-WRAPS and within the first year they had not only met the goal, but they had broken even on their investment by nearly eliminating stretch film from the warehouse. The company is on track to save nearly $20,000 in the first two years, and expected savings are $18-24,000 over the third and fourth year after minor repair, maintenance and/or replacement costs of worn wraps.
Like most businesses Antonucci's has no shortage of competitors and being the most sustainable distributor in the region is starting to pay dividends. REUSA-WRAPS have become a major part of their sustainability program, preventing over 100,000 lbs. of used wrap from going into the landfill annually. For John Antonucci "being more sustainable is a business decision," and REUSA-WRAPS are helping his business market it's sustainable brand and use it's competitive advantage to boost it's market share. "The results speak for themselves," says Antonucci, "customers are coming to us because we make them more sustainable, and that's a good position to be in!"
